The Dachshund is an excellent choice of dog for anyone that is looking for a smaller dog that is both cute and affectionate towards their owners. In fact, some people may be surprised to discover that Dachshunds make an excellent choice for families with young children and elderly family members. As a result, many people will likely be looking for Dachshund puppies for sale in Washington.
There are some things that you will need to look into before purchasing a Dachshund puppy from a breeder though. For starters, you will need to decide on what you would like your new Dachshund puppy to look like and how big you would like them to be. There are many coat colors and patterns (Check here in details) available in the Dachshund breed. Some people prefer a solid-colored Dachshund like the English Cream, while others may desire a more complex coat pattern such as the dapple. In addition to different coat colors and patterns, a new Dachshund owner will need to decide if they would like a short-haired, long-haired, or wire-haired Dachshund.
However, the most important thing to consider when purchasing a Dachshund puppy is the breeder themselves. You should do your research to ensure that your Dachshund breeder is reputable and ethical in their practice. It is incredibly important that any breeder places the health, care, and temperament of their animals as a first priority. As a result, experienced smaller breeders are always the best, and you should never buy from a large corporate breeder. Here are some of the best Dachshund breeders in Washington that we have picked out for you!

Final Thoughts
The Dachshund makes an excellent addition to many people’s families. To find out if the Dachshund will be the right breed for you, make sure that you do your research thoroughly about the breed and their care requirements. Of course, you should also do plenty of research on breeders before purchasing a puppy from them as well. This will ensure that the breeder is both reputable and ethical, and it also makes it much more likely that your new Dachshund puppy will be healthy and have a good temperament.
It’s my understanding that dapples should not be bred with dapples, that smooth coats should not be bred with longhaired. Most of the breeders featured are breeding dapples to dapples and smooth to longhaired. This results in dogs that carry health issues and bad coats (scruffy coated dachshunds). Certainly these are not the top mini longhaired breeders in Washington state.
You should check Wagsmore Dachshunds. Although they don’t want to breed anymore, they are a great example of excellent breeders in our state.
Do you have any recommendations for wire haired dachshunds in the Pacific Northwest? Hathor Farm is no longer breeding. Willing to travel to nearby states or wherever is closest.
